| There
are hundreds of cases and skins available for the iPod and most
of them provide adequate protection and easy to carry features.
However, for those who want to actually touch and feel their iPod
when they're using it and merely need a simple pouch to put the
iPod in to carry around, the iPouch video is for you.
The iPouch video is simply
just that: a soft pouch made of a velvety material to carry your
iPod in. The top of the pouch can be closed by pulling on the drawstring.
There's a handy pocket on the outside for keeping the earbuds in.
What makes the iPouch special
is the material from which it's made of: "terahedron".
It allows you to easily clean away smudge marks and fingerprints
as you take your iPod in and out. I was impressed at how well and
easily it 'polished' my iPod. On top of that the outer layer is
splash-proof.
The downside to the iPouch
is that it offers very little protection, if any, against bumps
and dents. It is strictly for those who want to keep the iPod covered
while carrying it in their pocket or in a handbag.
It's also a bit cumbersome
if you require quick access to your iPod's controls and screen because
you have to take it out of the pouch first before you can do anything.
Even though it's supposed
to have been made for the iPod video (even having the name "iPouch
video"), the iPouch is much bigger than the 5th generation
iPod. Hence the iPod video does not fit snugly inside. Checking
on the website, I noticed that the iPouch is made to accommodate
the 2nd generation iPod onwards. True enough, it fitted my old iPod
photo perfectly.
In conclusion I would say
that the iPouch may only appeal to a small group of people. Most
iPod owners I know (myself included) prefer to have a tough case
to protect our iPod as well as a convenient way to carry it around
with, like a belt clip.
