| The
second Meeting-in-a-Box from Peachpit featured a DVD of the Peachpit
presentations at the Macworld in San Francisco in Jan 2006.
After passing out the popcorn
(included in the box) and drinks, we screened the DVD. There were
lots of very useful tutorials and wonderful tips from Mac gurus.
Amongst them were Jim Heid who talked about iWeb, Michael Verdi
and Ryanne Hodson who showed how easy it was it create our own video
blog, Maria Langer who shared some nice Tiger tips, and Diana Weynand
who demonstrated Final Cut Pro. The funniest speaker of the lot
was undeniably Christopher Breen who shared his secret tips on using
the iPod.
For the lucky draws Peachpit
threw in the box 4 books, several iLife 06 booklets, membership
cards, bookmarks and a cap. Almost everyone got something!
Just before we left Skilz,
Chris briefly talked about setting up a Special Interest Group on
Cocoa programming. Then David introduced us to his new blog for
local Mac news called myMacBuzz.com.
As the group dispersed, some of us went to Austin Chase for coffee,
more Mac talk as well as World Cup chatter!
As usual, thanks to MacAsia
for the venue and a big thank you to Peachpit the box of goodies!
