| The
last MacFest of the year started off with Azizi talking about the
latest developments of Legal
Bytes, his company which specialises in services for the legal
profession.
Firstly he demonstrated
BriefCase,
a litigation suite for lawyers. Amongst other things, the suite
offers real-time transcription of court proceedings, transcript
management and chatting amongst team counsels.
Next Azizi showed Legal
Hitch, a legal jobs network for anyone interested in finding
jobs in the legal industry. Finally, he talked about Love
Bytez, a non-legal related service which provides free
wedding cards. You select a design and the service will print real
cards and post them for you anywhere in Malaysia for free!
Azul demonstrated the new
features of iPhoto 08. He covered the Events feature, the new adjustment
tools and did a live demo of setting up a Web Gallery. Even though
around half of the attendees were already using iPhoto, most of
them seemed impressed with the new White Balance tool, a simple
one-click feature to automatically colour balance a yellow-cast
photo.
As a last minute surprise,
Pete stood up to demonstrate the mobile broadband modem on his iBook
using Celcom's data plan. The speed was nothing to shout about,
but it wasn't too bad either. Pete showed how his Internet connection
could be wirelessly shared with other Macs.
As usual, books were given
away for the lucky draws, including an iPhone book and one on Leopard.
Other prizes were a moshi Cardette card reader and an exclusive
Apple pen & pencil set.
Thanks to Jovi and EpiCentre
for the venue and refreshments.
