| As
Shah mentioned at last month's MacFest, it was time to give him
and me a rest and to get new people to do the presentations. So
this time there was Wei and first-timers Chris Hong and Redza.
Firstly, Wei showed a couple
of neat tips, including changing the background image of the Finder
window. He then demonstrated emulation and briefly played an old
arcade game on his PowerBook.
Chris, who earlier in the
day held the first Developers Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting,
gave an introduction to developing for OS X. He presented a slide
show, covering everything from a brief history of OS X right to
its modules and components. He then proceeded to demonstrate XCode
via some simple yet cool applications.
Lastly, Redza showed a few
Mac 'toys' - freeware which allowed the Mac Book to do fun, though
'useless', things. He riddled his screen with bullet holes, used
it as a light saber and decorated his face with a variety of moustaches!
He ended by showing a video clip of a cool slide show by Identity
2.0.
There were 5 items for the
lucky draws: the latest Make magazine, three books (including a
humongous one called "Mac OSX Help Line"), and a polo
shirt from Miglia. Congrats to all who won.
As it was one of the largest
groups to have attended MacFest at Skilz, we took a group photo
before converging to Coffee Bean for what else, coffee!
Thanks to the prize sponsors
and to MacAsia for providing the venue. |
