Shah kicked off the 'Fest by showing
how we can run Classic applications on Intel Macs using a software
called Basilisk.
He demonstrated by playing a Classic Mac game.
Mus talked about OmniGraffle,
an application that used to be bundled with the PowerBook. He went
through the features of the software and then showed how he created
his family tree with it. And a big family he has too!
I was next and I showed
a video clip of highlights from the last Apple Special Event. Then
I showed how to put together a photo book using iPhoto and how we
can finally have these books printed locally via a company called
Pixart.
Shah came back on for a
brief talk on how we can rip DVDs straight into the iPod format
using Handbrake
Lite.
Coming up to the lucky draws
I showed another video, this time of Sonnet's installation guide
on how to change the battery of a 4G iPod. Pretty tricky...hair
dryer required!
As usual there were a few
books that were given away as prizes. The top prize was an iPod
universal dock and charger which was kindly sponsored by Gold
Stream Technology. It was won by Redza.
After the event, some of
us hung out at Austin Chase for coffee and nasi lemak!
Thanks to the prize sponsors
and to MacAsia for providing the venue. And special thanks to Choy
Leng for supplying the drinks.
