Video Highlights

The night promised to be a very special occasion. It kicked off with a performance by Firdaus who sang his own composition backed by drums and backing vocals recorded on GarageBand. He was accompanied by Azizi on percussion.

Then Shah started the first presentation by talking about how to integrate the Mac with Sony's PSP (Play Station Portable). Amongst other things, he demonstrated how to transfer video clips between the two hardware.

Fa'iq came on after Shah and talked about Sailing Clicker. He demonstrated how using this software one can remotely control his Mac, like launching applications, playing music, etc.

I was up next and I presented ThinkFree's Office 3, a suite of three applications (Write, Calc, Show) which challenges Microsoft Office by having a very similar interface at a fraction of the cost. After my talk I showed some funny TV commercials.

Then we celebrated Jasemaine's 21st birthday by singing "Happy Birthday" and tucking into a big Black Forest cake. Of course, Jasemaine had to 'earn' her birthday celebrations by performing a song for us!

The lucky draws at the end of the evening consisted of four books, Ice Creme (iBook/iPod polisher) and the grand prize of ThinkFree Office 3, which was won by Jui Hong. Congratulations to all the winners!

As the doors closed on the Apple Centre and Ikano, a few of us went to D'Kayu outside Tesco's for some teh tarik and chatted until about 12:30am.

Special thanks go to all who participated; to Alvin, Chris, Wei, Uri and Choy Leng for contributing and helping out; to the sponsors for the prizes: Peachpit, O'Reilly, MacAsia and Corbis Trading; and to Mac Studio for providing the venue.
